Is It Worth It?
Marathon runners are a special group of people. They run 26 miles not to escape from anything nor are they trying to get somewhere, but they run for the fun of it. For me, running 26 miles isn’t any fun. I have often said that if I am going to go 26 miles, I am going to get in the car and drive it.
How to be An Iron Man
Can you imagine going to work every day for 16 years without missing a day? His job was not a normal 9-5 job but was a job that required him to perform at the highest levels. He didn’t take a sick day, or just a day off to rest
How to Get the Most Out of Your Thinking
Now that we have looked at the importance of thinking and the types of thinking now it is time to talk about the nuts and bolts of thinking.
What Thinking and Ice Cream Have in Common
One of my favorite foods is ice cream. Not only do I love ice cream because of it cools you off on a hot summer day, but I love the fact that there are so many different flavors of ice cream. Baskin Robbins boasts of 31 flavors. The awesome thing about Baskin Robbins 31 flavors is that you can have one each day during the month and never repeat. I love that kind of variety. For some people when you say, “ice cream” they think of chocolate, another might think of vanilla, or chocolate chip cookie dough or my all-time favorite peanut butter cup. The best part is that they are all ice cream, just different types. It is the same way with thinking.
Put Your Thinking Cap On
When I was a kid anytime I had to answer a question or solve a problem, I was told, “Put your thinking cap on.” Did you ever hear that from a teacher or from your parents? As leaders, in order to be successful, we need to always have our thinking caps on.
How Attitude is Like a Cold
I hate being sick. The runny nose, the coughing, the sneezing, the fever, and the chills. You know what I am talking about. I have noticed since I have kids and since my wife works in an elementary school, there are all kinds of “bugs” that get brought home.
Find Something Positive in Everything
I will admit that it sometimes not very easy to find something positive in everything. But I am convinced that as you continue to have a positive attitude, you will be able to see those positive things in your everyday life. Even when “life hands you lemons, you can make lemonade” because you have a positive attitude.
How to be Successful in Every Relationship
Here is what I want to encourage you to do; for the next 30 days act as though everyone you meet is the most important person on earth (remember he is to himself). See what happens. See if not only their attitude toward you changes, but especially with those difficult people, see how your attitude toward them might change.
A is for Attitude
Attitude is something that you don’t think about unless of course you run into someone that has a bad attitude, at the grocery store, at work or gasp, church. Our attitude is one of those intangible things that we ourselves don’t think about but those who live with us or work with us know an awful lot about it.
